Linda is a contemporary abstract artist. She began painting in search of self-expression and exploring the different layers to life. Linda strives to create art in line with the quintessential Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi. This embodies “the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete” (Koren, 1994).
When exploring and painting, Linda experienced the necessity of a wabi-sabi perspective on life and art. It allows one to truly appreciate life events, shapes, textures and colors. One could say that abstract art, imperfect and open to interpretation, by nature resembles the wabi-sabi aesthetic and philosophy. Accepting flaws, unexpected events and appreciating their beauty will eventually bring peace, growth and happiness. This is why Linda creates art as part of Studio WS.
Linda works with different types of sizes and materials and prefers to be inspired by experiences, her surroundings and emotions. This leads to the use of colors, scents and natural materials like coffee and sand, carrying along a specific memory. The artwork created as part of Studio WS aspires to inspire everyone in their own way.
